Fiio X1 2nd generation high res 24 bit capable music player.
Fiio has added bluetooth 4.0 as well as bluetooth input, so it works with bluetooth remotes. The metal housing is smoother with a clean looking glass face and a new soft touch control wheel. 2nd Generation provides a slightly cleaner, clearer sound thanks to a newly upgraded dac chip.
The X1 2nd Gen will play all music files and bitrates up to high res 24 bit / 192k files. No need to convert files. There is no internal storage - you provide a micro sd card up to 256gb and can load it with music in any compatible format. The X1 will put all the files into one unified library for playback.
Output can be switched to Line Out, for use in the car (great source for car audio) or into a home stereo or powered speakers. A fully adjustable 7-band EQ is built in. Software is upgradable and all connections are on the bottom panel.
Battery life rated to 12 hours and for the spec hungry, output impedance is 1 ohm, making this a good match with earphones down to 8 ohm (basically any of them!).
1 year warranty, micro usb cable and clear case included.
headfonics.com: The FiiO X1 Gen 2 is a distinct improvement over the first X1 in terms of sound. The original X1 was just ok for me in the scheme of things and I always gravitated to the X3 gen 2 if I wanted a small portable player. However, the X1 Gen 2 sounds a lot more balanced now, the touch sensitive wheel a lot slicker to use and BT does add some real value to the package.
